Jewelry is small and light, so air is almost always the right choice. The two things that move the price are a brand logo, which puts the same 3 kg on a branded channel at $73.82, and a high declared value, which a person checks before we confirm.
What it costs to ship jewelry and accessories from China
All-in prices from our China warehouse to a US address. Billed weight is the actual weight or the carton volume (length x width x height in cm, divided by 6,000), whichever is higher. Sea is only offered from 100 kg.

What changes the price for jewelry and accessories
Brand logos cost more, look-alikes get seized
Unbranded pieces ship on the general rate, $16.40 per kg on a 3 kg parcel. Goods carrying a brand logo go on the branded channel at $24.61 per kg. Anything that looks like a famous fashion brand is reviewed by a person first, because US customs seizes counterfeit jewelry, sunglasses and accessories.
Declared value has a ceiling
Our door-to-door air service accepts up to $800 of declared value per recipient per day. Fine jewelry, gold, silver and anything above that is checked by a person, who confirms how it can travel before you get a firm offer.
Weight, not volume, sets the bill
Jewelry is dense, so it bills on actual weight unless the retail packaging is bulky. Gift boxes and display cards can double the billed weight; ship them flat when you can.
Duty is already in the price
On our door-to-door air service up to 100 kg, US import duty is inside the price you see and nothing is collected at your door. Most jewelry and accessory orders sit well inside that limit.
US rules for importing jewelry and accessories
Jewelry needs a formal US customs entry with the right HS code, and it has to show where it was made. Each piece, or its retail card or package where the piece is too small to mark, should carry the country of origin. Country of origin marking.
Children's jewelry is regulated much more tightly than adult pieces, so decide who the jewelry is for before you order it.
- Children's jewelry: pieces designed for kids 12 and under are children's products under the CPSIA, with a federal lead limit, third-party lab testing and a Children's Product Certificate. Several states also limit cadmium in children's jewelry.
- Quality marks: if a piece is stamped "925", "sterling" or with a karat mark, the mark must be accurate and, under federal law, accompanied by a registered or applied-for US trademark of whoever stands behind it.
- Sunglasses: in the US, sunglasses count as medical devices. The lenses must pass an impact resistance test and the customs entry carries FDA details, so tell us when an order includes them.
- Press-on nails: nail glue is a liquid, and liquids move a carton onto a costlier channel. Ask the supplier to leave the glue out, or tell us it is included.
Packing jewelry to pay less and arrive intact
- Bag each piece or set individually so chains do not tangle and plating does not scratch in transit.
- Ship gift boxes and display cards flat and assemble them in the US; empty boxes bill on their volume.
- Keep branded and unbranded goods in separate cartons, so only the branded carton pays the branded rate.
- Put the invoice value per piece on the packing list. A realistic declared value clears customs faster than a round guess.
