Effective 15 September 2026.

This page says what information Plain Freight collects, why, who handles it for us, and what you can ask us to do with it. It describes what the website and our systems actually do today. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

Plain Freight is a trading name of Fisto LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Fisto LLC is responsible for the information described here. For anything on this page, write to hello@plainfreight.com.

2. What we collect

When you ask for a quote (the website form, an email to hello@plainfreight.com, or our API and MCP server for AI assistants): what you are shipping, weight, carton sizes, pickup city in China, US destination ZIP, urgency, your email address, and anything optional you add, such as your name, company and notes.

Where your visit came from. When you submit the quote form, it sends the page you first landed on, the referring website and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source=chatgpt.com). This is kept in your browser for that visit only and is attached to your quote request so we know which page or channel brought it.

Emails and messages you send us, including attachments such as commercial invoices and packing lists, and messages on WeChat or by phone if you contact us there.

When you ship with us: shipment details, pickup and delivery addresses, consignee and importer details needed for US customs, product descriptions, HS codes, declared values, warehouse weights and measurements, and invoice and payment records.

Partner applications (forwarders, warehouses, brokers): company name, contact name, email, WeChat ID, website and the service details you enter.

Technical data. To limit abuse of the instant offer, our servers store a one-way hash of your IP address, never the IP address itself. Our hosting provider processes standard request data, such as IP address and browser type, to serve the site.

3. Why we use it

  • To price your shipment and send you the offer, then answer your questions about it.
  • To book, move, clear through US customs, deliver and track your shipment.
  • To invoice you and keep the accounting and customs records the law requires.
  • To follow up on a quote you asked for. We do not add you to marketing lists.
  • To understand which pages and channels bring customers, and to keep the service secure.

Some of this work is done by AI. Quote requests and the emails you send us are read by an AI model that extracts the shipment details, checks things like volumetric weight and goods restrictions, and drafts replies. Decisions that touch money, unusual goods or a commitment to a third party are reviewed by a person before they go out.

4. Who handles it for us

These providers process information on our behalf, only to run the service:

  • Vercel: hosts the website and our web API, and provides cookie-free page-view analytics.
  • Supabase: the database where quote requests, shipments and messages are stored.
  • Amazon Web Services: runs the service that calculates instant offers.
  • Anthropic (Claude): the AI model that reads quote requests and emails and helps draft replies.
  • Zoho Mail: our email, for sending offers and replying to you.
  • Telegram: internal notifications to our team when a new quote request arrives.
  • Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: website analytics (see section 6).
  • Our US bank: issues invoices and receives payments.

To actually move a shipment, we share the details it needs with the logistics companies involved: our warehouse and freight partners in China, airlines and shipping lines, the US customs broker that files your entry, US Customs and Border Protection, and the delivery carrier. They receive what that step requires, such as addresses, cargo details and customs data.

5. How long we keep it

We keep quote requests, messages and shipment records for as long as we need them to quote, ship and support you, and for as long as tax, accounting and customs record-keeping rules require. We delete information on request when we are not legally required to keep it (section 7).

Tracking links.A tracking link (plainfreight.com/track/...) works without a login: anyone holding the link can see that shipment's status, cargo description, route and event history. It never shows prices, costs or internal notes. Share it only with people you want to see that information.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. They set their own cookies and collect data such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and approximate location, and Clarity can record session replays of how a page was used. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. The site itself sets one cookie, plainfreight_locale, to remember whether you chose English or Chinese.

You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker, and the site keeps working. Google offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

7. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to hello@plainfreight.com from the address you used with us. We answer within 30 days. We may keep records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices and customs filings, and we will tell you if that applies.

US residents (including under California and other state privacy laws): you have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

EU and UK visitors: we process your information to take steps you asked for and to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. You may also object to processing, ask for a copy of your data in a portable form, and complain to your local data protection authority. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

8. Children

Plain Freight is a business service for importers. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

If we change what we collect or who handles it, we update this page and the effective date at the top. Questions: hello@plainfreight.com, or see our Terms ›
