What TikTok Shop sellers should know before ordering
Since the de-minimis exemption ended for Chinese-origin goods, every shipment needs a formal customs entry and pays duties regardless of value. The duty is the normal rate for your product's HTS code, plus a Section 301 duty where the code is on a Section 301 list (7.5% or 25% for most listed consumer goods). The IEEPA tariffs added in 2025 were ended on 20 February 2026; see the US import rules timeline for the dated steps. Find your product's rate before you price the restock, not when the goods are already moving: it is the difference between a margin and a mistake.
Timeline planning has two halves, and freight is usually the smaller one. Production runs 7 to 30 days depending on your supplier and order size, and your supplier's courier then takes the cartons to our China warehouse. From the day your shipment leaves that warehouse, door to door air takes 6 to 12 working days, air consolidation 10 to 14 days and sea 28 to 32 days. A physical CBP exam can add several days, which is why the entry is prepared before the shipment arrives.
